Replace blocks of text with AKS Text Replacer
Replacement of words in the files can be a daunting task, especially taking into account volumes of information processed by people all over the world. Sometimes, it is necessary to replace just a few words in a dozen of files. If you choose to do it manually, you will probably waste much time. Besides, there are no guarantees that you will find all words you want to replace.
AKS-LABS offers you another solution. Save your time by using AKS Text Replacer. This is a very simple program, which, however, can do much work for you. AKS Text Replacer can both replace and look for words and blocks of texts. The only thing you have to do is to specify a folder in which AKS Text Replacer would look for files containing words you want to replace. Of course, there are additional options and features which make replacement process more accurate and time efficient.
Let’s describe the whole procedure of word replacement with AKS Text Replacer.
First and foremost you have to choose a folder in which AKS Text Replacer will look for files containing keywords. You may set additional parameters, i.e. ignore certain folders, file types, as well as specify certain folders and file extensions you are especially interested in.

Then you proceed to the most important stage – entering words you want to replace and replacement words. It is also possible to replace blocks of text, abstracts, paragraphs etc. You may also create a Replace group, i.e. save pairs of words which you replace regularly. Below in the interface you will find three check boxes: ignore letter case, use regular expressions and use special chars (however, the latter this does not mean Unicode support). Besides, you will also have the option of pasting special char (like decimal coded symbol, HEX coded symbol, searching in the beginning or at the end of the file etc.)
If you are aware of the size of the files and dates they were created then proceed to the 3rd step. There you can use this information to specify certain files (for example not greater than 25KB) or exclude them from the search.
Finally, it is possible to choose replacement options. AKS Text Replacer can either overwrite files, i.e. replace text in the original file, place modified file in the selected folder or create a back up copy of the original file.
